During the week I’ve been looking for more inspiration. I found some really interesting typographers on Social Media. I’m searching on different platforms like Pinterest, Facebook, Behance. All kinds of different platforms to keep the inspiration flowing. And not just that. I find in interesting to see work of others to see what goes on in their heads or to see how someone done a project. With Behance you can easily show step by step pictures so that gives me a good opportunity to look at a process. Right now I’m showing my top 10 Instagram accounts that inspire me.
These 10 Instragram accounts are my favorite. To share them with you I hope they will inspire you too:
- Oatsdiy; I’m not following Oatsdiy that long but what I can say it that this person has a great creative mind and makes wonderful calligraphic projects. She is connecting with her audience to ask them for quotes/names she can use to practise her calligraphy. She is very good at it.
- Calligrafikas; is run by Drew Europeo. She is besides a calligrapher a designer and photographer. You can see that very well in her picures on Instagram. They’re fresh well exposed and the colours pop. Her typefaces are stunning and she has a particular style. She is using different typefaces within a project. From swirly to serif, to sans-serif she can create beautiful designs.
- Goodtype; Goodtype isn’t a single designer/calligrapher. It is an Instagram page that shows a collection of artist who create typefaces. These pages are very useful because you come across other designers/artist. A really good one for more inspiration.
- The Daily Type; The Daily type is also a page with a big collection of different artists. This page posts the most posts on Instagram. I check Instagram when I wake up and before I go to bed. The Daily Type finds the best artist and has a beautiful range of inspiring images, to my opinion.
- Amazink Mad; run by Eduardo Duarte, a freelance graphic designer from Mexico. Most of his work is typography designs. He doesn’t have a particular style, he likes creating random things. His work doesn’t always look perfect but that shows that practicing makes art. He is an inspiring person.
- Typography Inspired; Same as the two pages above, this page is also a collection of the best typography artist. What can I say, I’m in love with this Instagram account. The projects they show are of very high quality. This account is one to follow for sure.
- Typography Journal; Again an page with typography inspiration. And again, work of very high standards. Very nice to look at and to scroll through. Nothing to say more about this, you have to take a look yourself to get inspired.
- Typographie; surprise! Another page full of inspiration of and work from great artist around the world. I got a thing with these pages because of the diversity. Every artist has his own signature which is great to see.
- Typespire; This page provides creatives of all levels and inspiration. This is also a good one to just scroll through if you’re stuck on your work. It is always nice to look at someones work that is maybe more experienced than you are and therefore you can see how they’ve done there project.
- Typografi; A curated gallery of applied typography. Although this a page with typography, you can see some different things on this page. They also post typography in context. You can find bottles or other kinds of branding where artist created there typeface on. This one is perfect to check out if you’re looking for inspiration to create your font in context.
