Creatures

Six N Five Studio

Before I started with this assignment I looked for some examples, inspiration. During the lecture we were provided with some interesting artists. The artist(s) that appeals to me the most is Six & Five studio from Andy Reisinger and Ezequiel Pini. I tried to photograph in this kind of way but with a touch of my own.

To be honest, I experimented a lot. A lot. I was stacking objects that I thought were looking interesting. But during experimenting I created some funny and interesting “creatures”. All of them are abstract. I was trying to create something similar as Six & Five studio but with completely different objects. My photos look “clean” I don’t want any random objects in my pictures or things that don’t belong in the picture or background.

I did have a little bit of trouble to get the background more intens black. For some reason it kept turning brown-ish. I changed the angle of the lights a few more times until I got the result I wanted. I realised that the further away your lights are from the background, the blacker the background. I’m really happy with the outcome of the photo’s.

Similar to my first assignment, I made some series/sequences:

Different approach

With these two pictures I tried something a little bit different. Normally I do not like black and white photos. I’m a person who likes colours. But I wanted to try something different and change these two to black and white to see what it does to the picture. I quite like them because they look sollid. All the objects become one and it creates a certain amount of dept in them. Also, the colours in the original photos were to strong for the grey objects. That’s also a reason why I turned these to black and white.
