Because I’m only here for one semester I decided I wanted to challenge myself a little bit more. The semester B assignments caught my attention , especially the book design. However, I wanted to create something different, so instead of a children’s book I chose to design an agenda. I started brainstorming and looked for inspiration.
Brainstorming
I’m the type of person who likes to write all my ideas on paper so I won’t forget anything and to clear my head. With my notes I try to make drawings of my ideas. So that’s how I’ve started on my brainstorm about my agenda. I looked at examples online and decided to create a big agenda (8,5 x 9,25 inch). Why? Because I like big agendas, but also I like to have enough room to write. I also wrote down what I want to put in my agenda.
I decided to create an agenda for personal and business use, literally two agendas in one. Because I have two companies of my own, I want to keep private and work separate. I want to use tab pages to divide the months and also to separate the personal agenda from the business agenda. Both of them are getting slightly different sections. I still have to agree with myself if these are the right sections but at least I wrote some ideas down.
I created a dummy of paper. This way I know how big it will be in real life and therefore, I will know how it is going to feel. After I finish the dummy to my liking I will start digitalising the agenda in Indesign.
