I love looking at other photographers their work. It keeps me inspired and it also gives me ideas for photoshoots. However I still have to practice a lot. I keep looking at other photographers in order to figure out how they created this picture. I follow a lot of photographers on Social Media but also camera brands. This time the Facebook page of Canon caught my eye because of this photographer; Maja Topčagić.
Maja Topčagić
Maja was born in Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She now lives in Sarajevo, Bosnia. She graduated in mathematics and computer science. Photography is just a hobby as she calls it. She only photographs her friends. Though she has not done a photography education or courses she still knows to amaze me with her pictures. It proves to me that you don’t need an education for everything. I you love doing things and want to keep practising you’ll get there anyway.
Maja explains how she came in contact with photography and where she is now in this movie:
Canon Facebook page
I’m following the Canon Netherlands Facebook page for a longer period of time now. They’ve created a special themed online gallery where everyone can upload their photographs. They call it the “You connect gallery”. They have created this gallery in order to create a online community. Maja uploaded her photos to that gallery and straight away she got noticed by Canon. And for a good reason. Her photographs are vibrant, unique and interesting. They featured her on the Facebook page and did a little interview with her.
What I love about the Canon Facebook page is that they show a lot of work of divers photographers. Either amateur or professional. Everyone has an equal chance to get featured. Because of that you see a lot of different styles. Obviously, you either like it or not but it can definitely inspire and keeps you motivated – at least, me – to set higher goals everytime.
