After I finished the sketches and wrote down everything I wanted to include in my planner, I started creating a digital version of it. That way I could easily take out or add things if I didn’t like it. In this blog I will exlain how this process went.
Cover
I designed the cover in Adobe Illustrator with Pantone colours. I used my quote I designed for the typography assignment on the cover because it really tells how I am as a person. The question however, is grey letters or white.
The background, the triangles, is something I wanted to try for a long time. It took a lot of hours to create it like as it is now. I wanted to create a kind of an abstract art-ish cover and using the contrast of the letters to give it a personal touch and playful.
Inside pages
My idea for this planner was to create personal and a business section. So basically two planners in one document. That way I can keep business and work appointments separated. For me separating business and private is an important thing as I don’t want to mix up things and making mistakes that could cost clients.
In addition, I wanted to create something where I can write down notes during meetings with clients and I want to insert something where I can plan my blogs since I have my own blog. Therefore, planning is really important for me in order to keep consistent and grow.
I will be using to different colour schemes throughout the planner. Blue is for the personal section and green is for the business section as that is the same colour I use for my company and blog.
Tab pages
Because I’m a very organised person, I want to include tab pages so that I can easily find a month that I need. These tabs will also have different colours schemes. That way I can easily go through my planner without turning over every page.
Size
The size of the planner is different. I’m using a bigger size for the cover as well as for the tabpages. That way it’s organised but the insed is also protected by the cover.
Binding
The binding I’m looking at is wire-o binding. Because I’m left handed it is handy to turn the pages over so that I’m not writing on the hard wire.
The next stage will be the final planner. I’ll continue with it and make it as practical as possible.
