The first workshop was about 2d tracking or 2d motion tracking. I have some experience with After Effects but never in a way that it was fun and it worked. That changed now. This workshop finally gave me a good feeling about AE.

Remember my last blog about my progress? I was pretty stuck with it. I was working too much on one letter which gave me like a tunnel vision. I tried to let it rest and look at it later on. That worked all right. The inspiration started to get back to me again and I’ve made some really good progress.

Type brief: create 6 original letter forms in both upper and lower case.
I’ve started working on this assignment last week. I’m trying something I’ve done a long time ago. I created this type of letters (see photo) to put on the cover on my diary. I don’t have those pictures anymore unfortunately but it was really cool. This assignment is a good excuse to try it again and to improve.
//The first workshop of Digital media was with Clive. He told us everything about projection mapping. I have to be honest if I say that I didn’t understand what the term meant. But as Clive started to show some examples I knew exactly what it was. We have seen it everywhere during these days. A good example is Disneyland. They have used projection mapping in the Haunted Mansion already in 1969!
I’ve been several times to Disneyland Paris and Disney World Florida. Compared to this youtube movie, The Haunted mansion has changed a lot. Obviously the technique is getting better and projectors are getting stronger.
