Typeface safari

During our first Design workshop, we had to go out and search Lincoln for typefaces. Together with my classmate Patti, we searched on the Brayford Warf for interesting fonts.

We created this collage. It represents the contrast between elegant and industrial. We also wanted to show that the fonts in the metal were chiseled. But when we looked closely to the other typefaces,  we discovered that they’re trying to copy that technique on a flat surface.
Last but not least, we were trying to get contrast in colours and greys. Although there are more coloured pictures in this collage than greys.

It was a really interesting and fun exersice. It made us aware of what is around us rahter than searching on the internet.
